COVID Policy

Ethical Standards & NYC:

This COVID Policy outlines how we, KGC, communicate and comply with ethical standards for the health and wellbeing of individuals interacting with us AND under certain NY laws, and Cornell Tech policies.

This Policy applies to anyone present at the Conference

We take the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, attendees, and partners very seriously. We are continuously monitoring the health and government guidelines in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We will be in touch regularly in the lead up to our events to inform you of any additional measures, over and above this policy, based on developments in New York City, New York State, and the United States.

Onsite Health & Safety Measures:

At a minimum, we will be following all mandated venue, municipality, state, and CDC guidelines and laws. This list, and all protocols, are subject to change as the fluid COVID-19 situation changes. For additional information regarding Cornell Tech Policy, please visit: https://tech.cornell.edu/coronavirus/

Contact Tracing Policy:

Personal Protective Equipment:

It is up to the discretion of the participant if he/she/they  want to wear masks.  We ask all participants to provide their own masks, however, we will have extra masks available upon request, should anyone need them. There will be hand sanitizer stations throughout the venue.

Monitoring:

If you aren’t feeling well, please monitor for COVID-19 symptoms. Depending on your symptoms and how unwell you feel, please go to the nearest testing facility, urgent care, or hospital. Please follow the CDC guidelines on when you should seek medical attention, if you are showing COVID-19 symptoms.

Should you end up testing positive:

  • Please notify us at info@knowledgegraph.tech with the subject, “C19”
  • Follow the CDC guidelines on what to do if you get sick.
  • You will not be able to return to the event.

We do not feel that having attendees ‘report’ others with apparent symptoms (which could also be allergies, a cold, etc.) comports with the spirit of the event. We encourage attendees to show regard for the safety of others in the community, by self-reporting any symptoms they themselves may have. The event staff will also be monitoring anything irregular onsite and handle it directly with attendees, as needed.

Sharing Medical Data:

In the event you test positive for COVID-19, your information may be shared with necessary third parties to the extent required by local health requirements or regulations. However, as we are not providing COVID-19 testing or medical care through the event, we currently anticipate that it is unlikely that this will be necessary.

Pivoting to Virtual:

We do not foresee any type of closure of the in-person portion of the event being necessary. We would only pivot to a fully virtual event if needed. If this were to happen, we would notify all registered In-Person ticket holders immediately.

If we know that someone is positive as a result of having adequate evidence, we will make an announcement in the next scheduled break and follow up with an email to everyone present at the event to ensure everyone present has adequate notice and documentation of any potential breach in safety.

Refund Policy:
