Types of Certificates

12-Week Builder Certificate

  • Recommended For: Individuals with experience in data science, knowledge engineering, and other technical roles seeking the fundamentals of building, querying, and maintaining knowledge graphs.
  • Structure: Four micro-certificates, that blend self-paced mini-lessons, peer-to-peer-learning, and a live session per assignment, due every three weeks.
  • Fee: $1500 per individual
  • Includes:
    • Continuing Education Units: 1.5 CEUs
    • Standard main conference registration (valued at $699) [link to conference page]

5-Week Explorer Certificate

  • Recommended For: Individuals without prior (or limited) experience with knowledge graphs, or in non-technical roles with data-decision making responsibilities. Once you successfully earn the certificate, you can enroll in the Builder Certificate. 
  • Structure: Three micro-certificates, that blend self-paced mini-lessons, peer-to-peer-learning, and a live session per assignment, due weeks 2, 4, and 5.
  • Fee: $750 per individual
  • Includes:
    • Continuing Education Units: .5 CEUs
    • Standard main conference registration (valued at $699) [link to conference page]

Note: We strongly discourage joining both the Explorer and the Builder certificates concurrently as it is unlikely you will successfully complete the work within the same cohort period. However, if you already have experience with knowledge graphs, you may enroll in the Builder certificate only.

2026 Schedule

We offer three public cohort sessions each calendar year. Each session has a defined enrollment window and begins with a required kickoff session. For every session, participants may choose either Builder or Explorer.

🌼 Spring Session

  • Enrollment opens January 5 and closes January 23
  • Session Kickoff required for final enrollment: [join] Friday, Jan 23 at 12:00 pm ET 
  • Builder Cohort runs for 12 weeks: January 26 – April 17
  • Explorer Cohort (Beta) runs for 5 weeks: March 9 –  April 10

🌞 Summer Session

  • Enrollment opens May 11 and closes May 29
  • Session Kickoff required for final enrollment: [join] Friday, May 29 at 12:00 pm ET
  • Builder Cohort runs for 12 weeks: June 1 – August 21 
  • Explorer Cohort runs for 5 weeks: July 13 – August 14

🍁 Fall Session

  • Enrollment open August 24 and closes September 11
  • Session Kickoff required for final enrollment: [join] Friday, Sep 11 at 12:00 pm ET
  • Builder Cohort runs for 12 weeks: September 14 – December 11
  • Explorer Cohort runs for 5 weeks: November 2 – December 4

Refund Policy: The first micro-certificate is free. If you decide to continue, you will pay the non-refundable fee to access the remaining micro-certificates. If you are unable to complete the remaining micro-certificates, you will be able to join a future cohort at no cost. You may re-enroll at no cost only once within a 12-month period.
