KGC 2023: The Knowledge in Your Code
Please enjoy this talk “The Knowledge in Your Code,” from the Knowledge Graph Conference 2023 given by Stephen Goldbaum, Executive Director & Distinguished Engineer at Morgan Stanley.
Talk description:
Business application developers put a wealth of business knowledge into their code. Too often, aside from executing, that information is left untapped for knowledge engineering purposes.
In fact, well-designed code is ripe with valuable information that can be extracted directly from the code for use in a variety of knowledge-based technologies. That can have direct benefits for regulated industries, like financial services, that are faced with a growing burden to demonstrate proper data management.
This presentation explores the implementation of an entire U.S. financial regulation to demonstrate how well-designed code can be leveraged to integrate with knowledge graph tools like semantic technology, data catalog, data lineage, audit, and graph technology.
Technical topics covered:
- Graph Databases
- Knowledge Representation
- Semantic Technologies
- Knowledge Graph Technology
- Knowledge Graph Applications
